Infinite Water designed and installed a treatment system to produce drinking water for the People’s Liberation Army from polluted Yongding river water. The water produced met the World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines for drinking water.
The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is the armed forces of the People’s Republic of China and the Communist Party of China.
The PLA is the world’s largest military force, with a strength of 2,285,000 personnel and is the fastest modernising military power.
The Chinese government commissioned Infinite Water to engineer and design plants to treat surface water from various sources to produce drinking water that satisfied WHO guidelines.
Tests conducted revealed that the raw water consisted of algae, chromium, arsenic, manganese, lead and pathogens, including high levels of E, Coli (480MPN/100ml).
Infinite Water built two 25,000 litre/day plants inside the PLA compounds, and trained personnel on operations. This was the first commercial treatment plant that had successfully produced water on that site that met the WHO guidelines for drinking water.
