Infinite Water utility HYDROXON™ systems

are designed to:

 

1. Supply safe drinking water from various water sources (ground water, rivers, lakes and more)
2. Pre-treat water for desalination applications
3. Upgrade utility plants to reduce disinfection by-products and improve overall system efficiency
4. Provide tertiary treatment of municipal wastewater (sewage) for reuse/recycling or safe discharge.

 

DRINKING WATER SUPPLY

Sources of drinking water for many communities come from the ground (aquifers) or surrounding lakes, rivers or catchments where the level of contaminants can be high and unpredictable.  Existing solutions to date have been largely ineffective, expensive and complex to operate, or too large and require much infrastructure, power and chemical input.

Infinite Water can custom engineer and design systems to suit the required capacity and raw water source.

For the supply of drinking water, Infinite Water’s utility systems:

  • Disinfect water by killing and completely inactivating waterborne pathogens: including bacteria, viruses and other micro-organisms
  • Remove particles: including rust, scale, algae, cysts and fungi
  • Degrade chemicals into non-toxic elements: including household chemicals, hormones, pesticides, herbicides and industrial chemicals
  • Remove bad taste and odour
  • Remove heavy metals: including lead, arsenic, manganese and iron
  • Keep essential minerals such as calcium and magnesium in the water for optimal health
  • Low maintenance – replacement of cartridge every 5 years
  • High water efficiency –  95% of input water is converted into drinking water
  • Small foot print – approximately 4 times smaller than conventional plants or alternative plants with advanced treatment

 

UPGRADE OF UTILITY PLANTS

Many existing conventional utility plants suffer from disinfection byproducts (DBP’s), excess of allowable contaminant parameters and have high cost maintenance issues.

Infinite Water’s HYDROXON™ process can be fitted easily into existing utility plants to achieve the following results:

  • Significant reduction in DPB’s through degradation/mineralization of organic material converting it to carbon dioxide, water and salts
  • Very high level of local disinfection rom all microbes: protozoa, bacteria and viruses. Log removal for bacteria and viruses, minimum 7
  • Degradation of blue green algae toxins
  • No addition of chlorinated carcinogenic DBPs
  • Correction of any bad taste issues
  • Fully automated process control that does not require any temporary additions as is the case with conventional treatment such as powder activated carbon or ozonation
  • Small equipment footprint, low energy consumption and low capital and low operational cost (costs significantly lower than treatment alternatives such as ozonation, hydrogen peroxide, powder activated carbon or MIEX)
  • Degrade and mineralise chemicals of emerging concern including: household chemicals, hormones, pesticides and herbicides. The complete degradation and mineralisation process ensures that chemicals are not released back into the environment.

 

PRE-TREATMENT FOR DESALINATION

Stand alone Reverse Osmosis plants have high costs and high maintenance.  Raw water often has high levels of nutrients and many other contaminants other than salts which should be pre-treated using Infinite Water technology to make the overall system efficient and cost effective.

Infinite Water’s solution outcomes for the pre-treatment of wastewater for desalination applications are as follows:

  • Degradation/mineralization of organic material converting it to carbon dioxide, water and salts

TERTIARY TREATMENT OF MUNICIPAL WASTEWATER

The use of water in many parts of the world is currently unsustainable.  In order to preserve our precious resource, the recycling and reuse of municipal waste water (sewage) is fast becoming critical.

Infinite Water’s HYDROXON™ process is used as the tertiary treatment of waste water to produce Class A+ (or higher) recycled water.   The quality of the water is high enough to be discharged to coastal and surface waterways or to be reclaimed for irrigation or urban reuse.

Class A+ Recycled water can be used for:

  • Toilet flushing
  • Garden watering and irrigation
  • Car washing
  • Construction and building purposes
